When a good friend of mine reached out to see if I would be available to document the proposal of her hubby’s son to his girlfriend at sunrise in St Pete, I was more than ecstatic to be there to capture it! They only had a short window of time that they’d be in town and I was thankful that I was going to be available that morning to capture these moments from this pivotal occasion that would lead these lovebirds into the next chapter of their lives. Cory was awesome and had this incredible vision of how he wanted to propose to Ashlyn. He was preparing to light candles in the shape of a heart on the beach at Vinoy Park and wanted to drop down on one knee as the sun would rise above the horizon behind them. While I started prepping for this session, I headed to the park to do some scouting for photos and that’s when there was a twist in the plot! I noticed fences going up and port-a-potties being set up along the path by the water…this was NOT the type of thing you want in your proposal photos! Lol. It turns out that St Anthony’s Triathlon was the SAME morning as the proposal, so there would be hundreds of athletes making their way along the course right by where we wanted to shoot! Oye! I mean it is an amazing race but what bad timing for us. But thankfully, Cory was open to some other ideas of mine and we ultimately ended up with a beautiful proposal (still near the water), at Coffee Pot Bayou, and we got some of the prettiest sunrise couples portraits I’ve had the opportunity to take. This couple was also incredibly stunning to boot (both inside and out!), so they made my job all that much easier!
Below are some of my favorite images of this sweet couple from their proposal session. Aren’t they just so perfect?! *Swoon* I hope you enjoy them and cheers to the couple!
