I love when life throws you unexpected bliss. That was exactly what I felt when two of my dearest friends approached me to photograph their wedding. Eep! So excited!!! Here was the catch though…it was just going to be the 2 of them, the officiant…and me. That’s it! My first thoughts with all of this was that I was extremely honored. Megan told me she wouldn’t have thought of anyone else to photograph her big day and that just absolutely pulled on my heart strings. My second thought was, “OMG, I have to be AMAZING with these photos! None of their family members or other friends were going to be there , so it would be up to me to produce images that would retell the story of their wedding day.” Despite some extreme nerves with that idea, I was 100% up for it and could.not.wait to celebrate with them! They decided to do an early morning ceremony on Huntington beach before the Saturday morning crowds appeared. It was thee perfect morning. Not too hot. Beautiful colors and hues from the morning light. And the peace of a beach yet inhibited by Saturday beach-goers.
And there’s just something so special about such an intimate ceremony. There wasn’t the pressure and nerves to please everyone around them or having to deal with all the typical wedding day hoopla. They were able to just focus on how much they loved each other that day and it showed. Never have I seen the bride look more beautiful and the groom be more proud to have her as his wife.
So without further ado, here’s some of the highlights of this beautiful & intimate beach ceremony.
