At-home couples sessions are quite literally the best thing since sliced bread. No…for real. 😉 With these sessions, I don’t have to worry about crappy weather causing us to reschedule (Check!). I also get to take photos at the place that is, in essence, the heart of my couples’ story (Check!). And because we are doing photos in a place that puts my couples at ease, I get less of the stiff & awkward, and more the sweet, tender, & even goofy connections that I crave with my imagery (check, check, check!). My couples also don’t have to worry about getting all fancy and traveling some place for their session because with these, I get to come to them. And if they want a wardrobe change? Bonus! Just head right on over to that closet down the hall. Haha. Maybe they want to play the song they wrote for their love? They can just go grab the guitar from the other room. And the best part? These sessions are uniquely theirs. Their own love story in their own home.
So with this particular session, I was lucky to have the beautiful and dynamic duo – Jessica and Fabian. This pair has known each other since high school, and it’s so evident that the love between them keeps getting stronger with time. Their session was an anniversary celebration of 8-years of marriage and the first set of professional photos they’ve had done since their wedding. I met Jessica last year at a wedding that I was photographing and she was doing makeup for, and she’s been helping me out ever since for some of my couples and boudoir sessions! Her and Fabian also run a fabulous beachy, boho-inspired clothing boutique in Sarasota called – These Quiet Sounds – so some of their style at the session comes straight from their shop. Fabian is also in a band with his brothers called Boyce Avenue, so we incorporated a lot of that love for music within their session too.
Below are some of my favorites. Be sure to also click “Play” below to hear the song – “Queen of Hearts” – that Fabian wrote for Jessica. (It’s on the band’s most recent album, so you all should go head over to iTunes and check it out!) Enjoy!
