It seems like just yesterday that my running buddy Brian was just telling me about his wife being pregnant with their first. Now their little guy Jackson is a toddler and they have recently added a new addition to their family…sweet little Brookann! Check out the darling, wide-eyed beauty in some of my favorite shots below. :)

If you can’t tell from the fall leaves in the photos below, I’m still playing a little catch up on blog posts. I’ll get caught up, I promise! Haha.

Back at the end of October, I got to spend time with the adorable young Brandon as we celebrated his first birthday! While we may not have had power outages or a close call with a stove top fire with this shoot, like we did at previous shoots, I did manage to find the one spot of dog poop overlooked in the yard. Haha. Always an adventure , but always a good time at the Bacik household.  Can’t wait until my next trip! ;)

I met up with Sarah, Johnny, Maris and Paige at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad –  Brecksville Station, for some fun family portraits.  Can I just say, that this family is one of the most photogenic family I’ve had? The girls LOVED being in front of the camera so it made my job super easy to capture some adorable moments with them.

See some of my favorites from our session below. :)

I met up with Lindsay and Andy in Peninsula, Ohio on a gorgeous fall day to snap some engagement photos around the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We started first around Lock 29 and then headed over towards the Boston trailhead. Check out some of my favorites below.

So while it may not still be October and breast cancer awareness month, that doesn’t mean that we need to forget how awful cancer is and how quickly it can enter into our lives and turn things upside down.  I’ve had a few friends pass away from the disease, many that have survived and powered against it, and I have a dear friend that is currently in the middle of battling her fight against it (and proving herself the warrior champ in this battle). Julie contacted me after I posted a link to a beautiful album of images on Facebook of another fellow photographer, Jen Thompson, who is currently fighting against ovarian cancer. These images by Benjamin Edwards, Kevin Kubota, and Craig Strong really touched Julie’s heart and she contacted me to see if we could do a similar photo shoot to document her journey battling against breast cancer.  So I spent a gorgeous October day with her and her family & friends as we celebrated what a beautiful and wonderful person she is. :) This was probably one of my favorite sessions to date. It showed me how powerful a photo can be and how a single photo can touch numerous lives.

And this last image is from the luncheon that followed our photo shoot that Julie’s wonderful girlfriends put on to support her. What an amazing group of gals!

Have you missed me? I know, I know…I’ve been M.I.A. with my blog lately! I have a good excuse though! I finished up a wonderful, but busy summer/fall wedding season, which then continued right into the fall/winter with LOTS of family sessions, senior portraits, engagements,  & boudoir sessions.  And despite being a little crazed at times with being so busy, I haven’t been happier in my life.  I have done a LOT of thinking over the last few months and have realized that now is the time for me to take a BIG leap of faith and leave my 9-5 gig and pursue my photography full-time! (Eek! Did I just say that out loud?!)  Many of you have been telling me for years I needed to chase it, but it seemed like too much of a dream.  But now it’s time for me to put my big girl britches on and dive into it!

So since I’ve been spending the last few weeks getting everything in line to make it happen, I have fallen a tad behind on blog posts. Oops!  But never fear! Here is a catch up of a few family sessions that I have done over the last couple of months. Lots more blog posts to come in the weeks to come. ;)

Enjoy!

The Felice family welcomed in an adorable little girl to their family back in August.  Here’s some sweet photos of little miss Kaylee and her big brother Carter.

I got to spend time in September with some of my dearest friends – The Roaches. I’ve been taking pictures of this little man, Tristan, since he was a newborn and now he’s three! Wow, how time flies!

Here are some photos from Little Benny’s first birthday! I’ve gotten to photograph him as he’s grown over the last year and it’s been so much fun! If you ever think you might be interested in doing a “First Year” bundle deal, shoot me an email! ;)

The kids in the next group of photos are seriously always some of the best times I’ve had when shooting older kids. They always keep the shots entertaining and everyone giggling. I love it!

Stay tuned for more blog posts as I continue to play catch up! ;)

Ceremony + Reception – Windows on the River
Flowers – Countryside Florist
Day of Wedding Planner –  Eileen Benson
DJ – Big Ear Entertainment

I knew from the moment I first met Juliann and Neal last year, that their wedding might possibly take the cake as one of my favorite weddings of the year.  The easy flow of conversation with them, along with their cheerful disposition made it obvious that we “got” each other and it was going to make for smooth sailing capturing all the moments on their big day.  And that is exactly what it was! While there might have been a few bumps in the day (as to always be expected with every wedding), Juliann and Neal’s vision of a violet tinted wedding went off without a hitch! (well maybe 1 hitch…Juliann and Neal being “hitched”! haha)

Ceremony + Reception - Fellows Riverside Gardens in Youngstown

The rose gardens in Youngstown ended up being thee hot spot location for me this summer season of weddings for me! And I was more than happy to shoot at this location. The spot is such a beautiful backdrop for my stunning couples such as Sharon and Matt.  Sharon was gorgeous in her custom made cocktail length dress, blue shoes and flower barrette, while her groom, Matt, look quite dapper in his suit.

One of the best surprises from the evening for me was the entertainment Sharon and Matt chose for their reception – The Dukes of Wail.  They had the crowd swinging to classic, big band beats and Sharon’s beautiful dress spinning that evening. Check out a slideshow from Matt and Sharon’s awesome wedding below.

If ever there were a more perfect fit for those adorable flower headbands and ruffled tutus, little miss Sophina is it!  Nothing speaks beautiful baby girl more than those two things, I don’t think. ;)  When I look back at some of the photos from this session, I can’t help but think her Mommy, Morgan, did a fabulous job picking out outfits for her as the images strike me as timeless…like I could have taken a few of them back in the 1800′s. (or at least the 1980′s as I think I had a similar well-loved dress & bonnet outfit as seen below…haha)   Check out this sweet doll face below. :)

Ceremony + Reception - Fellows Riverside Gardens in Youngstown

When I woke up to rain on the morning of Rachel + Jeff’s wedding…I started to get nervous about their outdoor ceremony. But never fear, the rain went away and we ended up with perfect weather for their big day! Nothing was putting a damper on their big day! I have to say one of my favorite parts of this wedding were all the details that Rachel put into it.  This girl knows what she’s doing! From handmade fabric and button bouquets and bouts, the red sash on her dress, red underskirt, and beautiful Indian jewelry…it was all stunning! The reception was clad with warm, shabby chic and vintage inspired items…bird cages being a key item! Check out the details from this gorgeous wedding below!
