“The only constant is change.”
So last month I came to the unfortunate realization that my website had been hacked! The horror! You never think it will happen to you until it does. But I’m ever so grateful that I was put in contact with Scott of Netcrafted – a malware removal service – and all the nasty bugs were cleaned up from my website within a day! Phew! But it got me thinking…maybe it’s time for me to do some updating my website. As much as I adored my former site and love how it helped propel my business to such an amazing place, my brand and who I am as a photographer has continued to evolve and it wasn’t quite fitting my personality or design aesthetic anymore. How do I even begin to emulate in words and visual design what my business has grown into? It’s such a personal process and sometimes I find it hard to separate my business from myself, because honestly, my business is 100% representation of who I am and what I love. After some deep soul searching, I’ve come to realize what are the things that really get my heart racing with excitement and the adrenaline pumping when it comes to my photography. And it pretty much all stems from capturing moments that are …

With this style of imagery, I find myself drawn to more of a lifestyle approach with family sessions, darker & more sensual boudoir images, and and more intimate couples portraiture (can we say elopements and at-home couples sessions?!).
I worked on putting together a branding board to figure out how I can translate that into an updated website. I debated on sticking with a WordPress site or making a leap over to Squarespace. I ultimately decided to stick with what I knew worked (WordPress!), but decided to go a different direct from my custom designed ProPhoto site, and give Flothemes a try. And I’m so glad that I did. Their support was amazing when I had questions, and their documentation with each of their available themes made it super easy for me to customize my new website theme all on my own! So after a month of reading all the documentation, watching all the video tutorials, reading all I could on typography, brand marketing, etc, my new site is
