I remember the thrill as a little girl of getting to get all dolled up in a pretty dress and shoes (hopefully with a heel!) I could tell Miss Lorraine was equally excited to get dressed up for her photo session to commemorate her first communion. My favorite part of the session is when Lorraine asked her mom and I, “”So this is what it feels like to be a bride?” Yes, it is exactly like that.  :) Here are a few of my favorite shots from the session. Enjoy!

I apologize friends, as I have gotten a bit behind in my blogging!  But here’s a special portrait session that I think you will enjoy.  My friend Anne called me up back in May because she wanted to document her son Andrew’s hair donation to Wigs for Kids.  Yes, you heard right…her 10-year-old son (not daughter) decided he wanted to do something special for kids in need and grow his hair out to donate. How freaking cool is that?!  Andrew’s big brother, Thomas, was his biggest supporter. Always standing up for him when other kids may have picked on him for the long locks.  Both amazing boys that their mom should be very proud of!

So we headed over to Bella Capelli Salon in Westlake, Ohio for the big event.  We even had Fox 8 news in the building to document this awesome event!  After the hair cut we headed over to Huntington Beach to take some photos of the family to show of Andrew’s new do! So handsome!

So while it may not still be October and breast cancer awareness month, that doesn’t mean that we need to forget how awful cancer is and how quickly it can enter into our lives and turn things upside down.  I’ve had a few friends pass away from the disease, many that have survived and powered against it, and I have a dear friend that is currently in the middle of battling her fight against it (and proving herself the warrior champ in this battle). Julie contacted me after I posted a link to a beautiful album of images on Facebook of another fellow photographer, Jen Thompson, who is currently fighting against ovarian cancer. These images by Benjamin Edwards, Kevin Kubota, and Craig Strong really touched Julie’s heart and she contacted me to see if we could do a similar photo shoot to document her journey battling against breast cancer.  So I spent a gorgeous October day with her and her family & friends as we celebrated what a beautiful and wonderful person she is. :) This was probably one of my favorite sessions to date. It showed me how powerful a photo can be and how a single photo can touch numerous lives.

And this last image is from the luncheon that followed our photo shoot that Julie’s wonderful girlfriends put on to support her. What an amazing group of gals!

With having photographed adorable babies and kiddos alike for the past few years around northeast Ohio, I have come to conclude, that Tutus are definitely ALL.THE.RAGE when it comes to styling your sweet little lady up!  And if you are looking for someone local to design you a fabulously fluffy skirt, than you must check out Christine work at Miss Princess Tutus. She wanted to add some photos to her site, so she came to me at the start of the summer to see if I’d be interested in doing a photoshoot for her.  Of course!  Who can resist an afternoon playing dress-up with a bunch of girls?!  Check out a few of Christine’s tutu creations below. :)

Tell me this next one wouldn’t make an absolutely adorable Halloween costume?!

Cinderella’s twin? ;)

Showing some Ohio State Buckeyes love!
